UV Glow in the Dark Cookie Icing Recipe
Cookies that glow in the dark in blacklight are awesome as a treat during a UV glow party! For example, during a blacklight Halloween party. In this DIY video I will show you how I made them!
The glow cookie icing recipe is very sweet and only contains four ingredients. It's really easy to make, and takes less than 15 minutes to create. Plus, it's very yummy!
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) is the ingredient that made the yellow icing glow. I mixed some vitamin B2 tablets with water, strained the water, and then mixed it with powdered sugar. While vitamin B2 is quite bitter, the yellow glow icing isn't, because the sweetness of the sugar mutes the bitterness.
For the white/blue glow cookie icing I used Tonic. Tonic contains quinine, which is UV reactive and glows in the dark in blacklight (ultraviolet light). Quinine is very bitter (just like vitamin B2), but you won't taste the bitterness of the tonic because of the sugar. Again, I mixed it with powdered sugar.
I'm not very good at decorating cookies.. I'm sure you can do better! Enjoy the recipe!
