Photography Tutorial: Indirect Light Painting with UV Makeup
Indirect light painting with paint? Yes, you can do it! In this video I will share the technique I used during my blacklight photoshoot with Marly van den Bosch (PUNCHINGPICTURES).
Settings: Aperture F10, ISO 250, Shutterspeed 1 sec.
Light painting: A photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera.
Marly and I worked with blacklight (ultraviolet light), and PaintGlow UV reactive face paint. Since UV reactive face paint glows in the dark in blacklight, and emits light, I used the paint as a light source. Hence: indirect, or reflective light painting.
Settings: Aperture F11, ISO 320, Shutterspeed 1 sec.
Settings: Aperture F2.2, ISO 320, Shutterspeed 1/100 sec.
