Green UV Glow in the dark Jello Jelly Recipe

Get ready for a trippy dessert! This UV Glow in the dark jello or jelly recipe will be a hit at any blacklight party :). In this DIY video I will explain how to make it.

For this glow jelly recipe you need a pan and a hot stove.

The glow jello/jelly recipe only has 5 ingredients. Lemon syrup, water, blue icing colour, gelatine sheets and vitamin B2 (also known as Riboflavin). Vitamin B2 is the ingredient that makes it UV reactive and glow in the dark in blacklight (ultraviolet light). Mixed together with blue icing colour, it gives the mixture a deep green colour as you can see in the above image.

You also need a strainer, as you can see in the video.

In blacklight, the jello mix looks neon green.

Glow jello magic!

You can pour the glow jello/jelly in plastic containers. It also looks great in wine glasses!

Pricking a hole in the bottom of the container can help to release the glow jelly.

After storing the jello/jelly in your fridge for a couple of hours you can finally release it from the container. Keep the outside of the container under hot water for a few seconds before turning it upside down, to help to separate the jelly from the container. You can also prick a needle in the bottom of the container to help it get out easier.

Work slowly.

Slowly lift up the container. Be patient! If you do it too quickly, the jelly can break a bit. In the above image I did it too quickly, which damaged the bottom of the glow jelly a bit,

Nom nom nom!

Even damaged, it's still delicious and tastes like lemon!
